Heritagepark.jpg (34649 bytes)A few kilometers north of Winnipeg you will find the historic locks of Lockport that are used to bypass rapids and provide boat access to and from Lake Winnipeg.

The area is well known for its abundance of record size channel cat fish.

People travel hundreds of miles to have the opportunity to hook into a record size cat fish on the Red River.  Excellent walleye and bass fishing can also be found along the Red River throughout the summer and winter months.

In East Selkirk you can visit the historic Colville Landing, once a major steamboat port in the late 19th century, and St. Peters Dynevor Church, the burial site of Chief Peguis, an important figure in Manitoba history.  The Church is located five kilometers north of East Selkirk.
